A Streaming Workbench That Fits in a Tab
M3U8Lab bundles HLS playback, testing and conversion into free browser-based tools — open to developers and everyday viewers alike, with nothing to install.
Who We Are
M3U8Lab is a small toolkit focused on one thing: making HLS streams easy to open, inspect and convert. We think streaming tech shouldn't require an SDK download just to check whether a link works.
Everything here runs on capabilities your browser already has. No installers, and no video data ever touches our servers — your streams and your privacy stay where they belong, on your machine.
Why We Built It
Diagnosing a stream shouldn't take a media server and a stack of docs. Our goal: open a tab, paste a link, and know within seconds whether it plays, converts, or needs deeper digging.
Local by Design
Playback and transcoding both happen inside your browser via WebAssembly. We never store, forward, or log the content that passes through.
Five Interfaces, One Toolset
The full toolkit is available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Korean, with the same features behind every language.
Core Features
- Streaming Playback: open m3u8 / HLS links directly in the browser, adaptive bitrate included.
- Offline Conversion: turn an m3u8 stream into an MP4 you can keep on your own drive.
- Iframe Embedding: one snippet puts the player on any third-party site.
- Every Modern Browser: desktop and mobile, no plugins or extensions needed.
